Colors
Whenever
a color chart is available - we post it on line for
you. Look for a link in the full description of the
item you are considering.
We
do everything in our power to provide color as accurate
as possible. However, we cannot control your computer's
interpretation of the color or the settings on your
monitor. Also be fully advised that:
- Photographing
white is very challenging. We want to show you
the detail. This often means that we have
to adjust the coloration a bit to show it. We
frequently hear "It says it's white but
it's blue (or green or lavender, etc.) on my
computer - what is it really?" If
it says white, then it is white - but either
your monitor is changing what you see or we
had to slightly adjust the image's coloration
to allow you to see the very important detail.
- There
are many shades of white! Silk white is
NEVER bright white - that is the nature of silk.
Never try to combine silk white with bright
white -- it will make the silk look dingy instead
of rich as it should. This means that
if you are coordinating something with silk,
it should also be silk (or ivory, etc.)
- Color
changes by dye lot. This applies to all
garments purchased everywhere. It's a
simple fact that color changes with every dye
lot. Colors from one dye lot may not even
blend well with the next dye lot. More
information is provided in FAQs
and in What
is a Special Order?
- Names
of colors are not standard anywhere. Every
manufacturer - every designer - calls their
colors whatever they wish. So one company's
"Calypso" may be the next company's
"Sunset" and "Candy Apple
Red" may be just "Red" or "Valentine's
Red" or "Christmas Red" elsewhere
-- or -- the color could be unique to that company
alone.
- It
is NOT reasonable to expect to match garments
purchased from another company or at another
time. This is not something just for garments
from our company - it is a universal fact. If
you are are a bride trying to coordinate colors
for your wedding party, we urge you to make
use of the extensive information and help we
provide to help you! Request your free Wedding
