~ Irish Inspirations ~
For Christening - Blessings,
Dedications & Baptisms too!
Whenever
we can find a style with distinctive Irish
detailing, we include it the Irish Inspirations Department.
What
makes a style "Irish"? Many things, really. The
most frequently requested is shamrocks - styles sporting a shamrock
motif in any number of ways. The fabric may be woven with
a shamrock pattern, or shamrocks may be added at stratigic focal
points for emphasis.
Another
Irish design is the claddaugh. This is the traditional "hands
holding a hear" symbolizing love.
And
let's not forget Cluney lace! Cluney (or Cluny) lace is a
cotton lace that is very open and airy - kind of like crochet.
Some
times - in rare occasions - garments are available in very fine
Irish linen. Cost can be prohibitive, but we are always on the look
out for them and will offer them whenever possible.
If
"all shamrock" is just a little too much for you or if
you have fallen in love with an outfit that is not particularly
Irish but do want to add a touch, stop by the Baby Accessories Department.
Very shortly we will be offering accessory sets specifically
for this purpose!
We
have several new Irish styles being developed just for The Perfect
Pear Children's Boutiques - so keep watching. We'll post them
as soon as they become available - we'are anxious for you to see
them!
